You get to keep out one or two titles at a time for this price as as there are no due dates, you can play them until YOU are ready to return them and not when the video store demands it.
GamesFrenzy also gives their subscribers the chances to keep the games they like for a big discount of up to 75% off the retail price of the game. This is a nice touch which allows you to free up your rental queue whilst still keeping the games you love.
In our trial of the service we found turn-around and delivery times to be fast and our customer queries were replied to quickly within normal office hours. You can't ask for more than that.
Games do not come with manuals so you'll need to take the in-game tutorials or go online to find advice and unfortunately, unlike many other similar companies, you can no longer take a free trial of the service.
We found the website pretty straightforward to use although, as with all other British video game rental companies, you do just get a list of game titles. Customer ratings, demos, customer comments and opinions on the games is sorely missing as is recommendations and top ten genre lists to name but a few. The US game rental companies like GameFly or Gplay really could teach the UK rental market a lot in this respect.
In all, there really aren't that many good video game rental companies operating in the United Kingdom at this time, but of those which are, GamesFrenzy is up there with the best. No free trial period and rented games do not come with manuals or access to an online version of those manuals. If you are one of those who simply needs a manual, then you're out of luck with GamesFrenzy. In addition, we think the price hike for next gen console owners is a bit of a cheek. A wider selection of games for each console would have been nice too.
